ILY4ever fashion pack review - Cinderella

"Love me, that's all I ask of you"

From A.L. Webber's The Phantom of the Opera

Today, I'll look at a fashion pack from the ILY4ever line. I picked the Cinderella, Belle and Rapunzel packs to be reviewed first since I bought them first and they are quite different - one is casual, the other is a bit more for special occasions and the thitrd is in between in my opinion. Cinderella goes first because her movie is the oldest - I like going by movie age order if it's the Disney Princesses and Frozen. All of this is just my opinion and views on these dolls and fashion packs.

This was the fashion pack I knew I had to have the moment I saw it. It's perfect for mix and match.

It comes with a white, long sleewed top, a blue knee length skirt, a pair of silver shoes, a blue hairband, a silver wirstwarch, a pair of silver earrings and a mouse handbag. Everything is  visible through the clear plastic fromt.

The box, like the ones with the dolls, has a picture of the relevant princess at the front and on one side...

...and a photo of a doll wearing the set on the other side and the back.

The fashion pack boxes are a bit smaller than the boxes with a doll but have the same shape and open the same. The handle on the box is still very useful for opening. Let's take a closer looks at what's inside the Cinderella box.

Here is everything unboxed. It had a zillion unnecessary little plastic tags. The most I had was in the Merida fashion pack that had two at every spot where thesse tags were used with the Anna pack being a close second. Far too many and they leave ugly holes in the clothes and they are a nightmare to get out.

The top is fairly thick so the holes go fairly unnoricable. The material is kind of "hairy" like what is uesd to make plushies. It makes the impression of a nice warm top. The Cindy-touch is the tiny silver pumpkin carridge decoration on the front.

It closes with velcro at the back.

The skirt is nice and wide and reaches almost the knee of the dolls.

It has two layers and the waistband has a big blue bow.

It can also stand upside down an look a bit like a big blue flower.

The shoes are silver colored and have bands to set them apart from the silver ballerinas the Cinderella inspired doll wears.

I think that makes putting them on the doll harder but the dolls get the authentic Cinderella experience - trying on her shoes is no joke and is for those with small feet. It may be harder for the dolls that were made by a different company, Jakks Pacific (Bambi fan, Stitch fan, Ursula fan, Mickey fan, Mickey and Minnie fan retro doll and the Cruella fan that turned out to b a leak from their second wave that has a Minnie fan and a Rapunzel fan to go with the Cruella fan).

The earrings have the form of a small bow. They can be easily worn with pretty much any outfit as they are quite generic. Some people may be bothered by this but I like pices that can be reused and mixed with many outfits.

The wirstwatch is a matching silver color and it can also be work with many outfits. Since it's Cinderella themed, it obviously shows midnight. These small pieces can easily get lost, so I store them in the basket that comes with the first Belle Fashion pack.

It would be nice if the bags and purses that come with the sets could serve this purpose but so far, only the basket is big enough to store these items.

The mouse bag coming with this set could maybe hold a pamphlet or something thin like that.

The blue velvet ribbon used for the bag makes it look more realistic when a doll carries it.

Last but not least, there is a blue plastic hairband.

It has a clearly identifiable backside and frontside.
I can see it being used for a town dress Belle inspired look.
Here is the Jakk's Pacific Stitch fan doll aka Magdalena wearing the core parts of the set. Her ears are not pierced and I didn't bother to add the accessoires, either. Still it looks god on her. it also matches the skirt from the Bambi fan doll that is made of a similar, velvety material.

As a closing picture, here is a little sneak peek at the next review, the first Belle set. Jasmin fan aka Midori rocks it, doesn't she?

I thought I'd add two questions to each fashion pack review I'll answer - you can answer them in the comments!

The questions will be always the same, which one is in your opinion the best piece from the set (and why?) and which doll looks best in the outfit. My answers for this qustion will always be a doll that I own, chosen from these: the six original girls, the Aladdin fan and the Jakks Pacific Stitch doll.

Favourite piece from the set: the skirt, it's rare to have such a niche wide A-line skirt for dolls - most are tube skirts that I don't really like.

Who looks best in this set? it's a tie between Cinderella fan Dahlia and Ariel fan Kaori! this set is great pretty much all of them rock it!

Disney Store 2018 Classic Cinderella doll review

"One shining chance to be
all I can and more"

from Rudolf - Affaire Mayerling by Jack Murphy and Frank Wildhorn; song: Measure of a man

Cinderella is one of the final batch of dolls to complete my classic doll collection. She is a 2018 Cinderella doll - she came out in 2018, that year the girls came with an extra ring for the owner to wear and those rings somewhat match the princess they come along with.
First look at Cinderella when she arrived:

Let's have a look at her box. Both sides are decorated with images from the movie.
The left side has her name, a picture of the fairy godmother turning the pumpkin into the carridge with Cinderella watching and a picture of Cinderella that is not colored and only has the outlines.
The right side has a bigger colored picture of Cinderella with redesigned hairstyle and a smaller one showing  Prince Charming and Cinderella dancing.
The back of the box has a colored picture of Cinderella holding her friend Gus, a drawing of her glass slipper that is just outlines and another drawing of Cinderella that is like the drawing of the glass slipper and the drawing on the left side of the box - just outlines.
The front is plain and has Princess Cinderella written on it with plain letters that are easy to read even for kids. Now that we are done looking at her box, let's debox her and get a good look at her.
She has a quite nice although in my opinion a bit generic face and there weren't any big changes during recent years. She has pink lips, the color that only looks good on dolls, on real people it looks mostly horrible in my opinion. They could try a differnt a little darker and mor natural tone for her, I think. Her lightblue eyes match her accessories and dress perfectly. She wears silver eyeshadow, but not too much
She has blonde hair, a little less golden than my Auroras hair. She has her hair in an updo that is made wit the help of a ponytail, I think, since she has one clear rubberband in her hair. The updo part is quite soft, but her bangs are hard because of the amount of hairproduct in it.
She has her headband and small lightblue earrings and also comes with her choker that is a piece of ribbon wit the two ends sewn together. The headband is tied to her head with two of those plastic little T shaped thingies.
Her dress is mostly lightblue with white part like the poofy little sleeves that have rubberbands sewn into them. The dress is all one piece and closes with velcro at the back. She also comes with long white gloves. In the animated movie the dress seems to be a silvery color in some shots
(for example when she gets her dress) and lightblue  in others (for example when she enters the castle)
The parts that are white on the dolls dress aren't white, but an even lighter blue tone. I think the lightblue and white colorcombination is fine for the doll, I prefer it over the darker royal blue skirt she sometimes has. She wears, like all the princesses that came out in 2018 a two-layer skirt. The lower layer is lightblue and made of a quite thin fabric, it wouldn't work by itself as a skirt, it would look really cheap. These kind of skirt remind me of the year when most girls had a big tullskirt, in 2011, I think.I'm not fond of this construction but I think it works for Cinderella and on Tiana it actually looks quite good. I don't like it on Snow White though and I prefer my Auroras skirt the way it is (she came a year earlier so her skirt is just one thicker layer)

The upper layer is mostly transparent with glitterpatterns on it. If you look at the pictures from the movie, her dress seems to be sparkly so glitter is fine in my opinion.
She wears flats which I think is a pity since that shoe plays such an important role in her story and she clearly wears elegant heels. The flats are secured with clear rubberbands that I left on her feet. Losing her slipper is fine in the story but I prefer for her to keep both of them.
At least those flats look like glass, you can clearly see her feet through the shoes so that's nice. I guess Disney gives the princeses flats so little girls want to wear flats and don't want to wear heels since heels are in the long run quite unhealthy for the feet. But that's just a guess. I think some princess dolls look better with heels, like Cinderella or Elena or Elsa, some look better with flat feet, like Pocahontas, Jasmine, Mulan or Moana.
She has the usual articulation, she has joints at her neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists and hips plus the klick knees I dislike and don't consider as real articulation.
From the back, you can see some little imperfections, like the hole under the velcro closure where the tie from around her waist was. It is also visible that her headband has a rubberband part for easy removing and putting back on. (But those plastic ties  that tie the headband to her head and are very hard to remove make this somewhat useless.)
My doll has a generous amount of blush but that changes from doll to doll and some shiny stuff on her face, maybe hariproduct.
I completely forgot the plastic ring she brings. It's lightblue with a clear, a little silverish square gem on it, Cinderellas signature colors. The lightblue part is also decorated with small white stars. I guess children like these kind of things, I don't really know what to do with it and would have preferred tha figure of her mouse friend Gus. I got  the suggestion that those rings might work as shokers for the dolls but I didn't sudcceed in putting them on the girls, the plastic is stiff and the gems are quite big. So Cinderellas ring ended up in my Made-to-Move Barbie's hair.
I still need to figure out where I can put the rest of the rings.
Overall Cinderella is quite a nice doll but nothing stands out for me on her, neither in a positive, nor in a negative way. Maybe it's because she isn't one of my favourite princesses. I'm still really happy to own her. Let's close this little review with a fullbody picture of Cinderella.
Ready to go to the ball

Oh and before I forget her given name is Julianna. I just looked at her face and she looked like Julianna to me. I'll try to post more often now that I've finished my exams. We still have Little Kingdom Fashion Change Cinderella and the other classic dolls, Snow White, Tiana and Merida to look at!

EDIT: I Added a photo and a little info about the ring she brings.

Edited: Teasers and new trailer released - Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2

"When Can I See You Again"

from Wreck-it Ralph ;)

Edit: I added the new trailer and a link to some more pictures and some thoughts towards the end of this post! Have fun!
Today I discovered that some pictures of the new Wreck-It Ralph sequel were released, among them a picture showing some of the Disney Princesses that will appear in the movie. I've been waiting for this since last year, when  a scene was shown at D23 where the girls appear. Here is an article from last year with more information:
https://eu.usatoday.com/story/life/entertainthis/2017/07/15/wreck-ralph-sequel-disney-princesses/481531001/
I found two versions of that picture:

I linked this first one from Facebook, shared byWalt Disney Animation Studios The second one is linked from the USA Today site. I got the information from the comments section belonging to the first picture that the picture is cropped and where the full picture can be found.
I'm very excited for this movie I loved the first one and I as far as I know, Vanellope von Schweetz is going to give the ladies a makeover. I hope this means casual dresses for all of them and I also hope Disney realeases the outfits as dress packs. My dolls would love to exchange their ballgowns from time to time for more comfortable clothes.
According to the Wikipedia article, all members of the Disney Princess lineup will be included, so no worries if you don't see your favourite girl in the picture. (To make it clear: I consider Disney Princesses and princesses two different things. Disney Princesses is the lineup, with Pocahontas and Mulan beeing part of it, and princesses are - well, princesses. Anna is a princess but not a Disney Princess. Mulan is a Disney Princess but not a princess. That's how I see it.) I think they actually use the cast of Ms Amy Mebbersons Pocket Princesses - her lovely and funny weekly pictures feature Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, Merida, Elsa, Anna and Moana. It looks like these ladies will appear in the new Wreck-it Ralph movie, too. I understand that many people are disappointed that characters they love didn't make it but I greatly dislike the amount of negativity and rudeness it brings with it. Maybe the other characters (like Kida or Nala) will get a chance later where they won't have to compete with the princesses for attention. That is pretty hard in my opinion.
Here are some more pictures, also form Facebook, shared together with the first picture:

Oh and here is the link to the trailer, too, I'm pulling this one from youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMgLxOZJWvs
Neither the pictures nor the video are owned by me, I'm merely an excited fan who wanted to share it.
Here is the new trailer that came out today (4th June 2018):
https://youtu.be/_BcYBFC6zfY
This flickr user made some great screenshots, go and look at them! They are right at the top now, but will likely get lover and lover, as koji kiote  adds more new pictures to the gallery. Another flickr user with amazing pictures, drj1828, made an album for Wreck it Ralph 2 which can be found here and the pictures can be easily found there even as his gallery grows. Those pictures are of course not mine.
If you look at these pictures, you'll see that all the girls missing from the first picture are there: Mulan, Merida and Ariel.
No Elena, but she has her own Wiki (as far as I know) and she is from a TV show, so I think it makes sense she is not in the same room as the other girls. But I'm sure she is out there somewhere in the internet, we just don't ger to see her in this movie. :)
The US Release Date is said to be November 21, 2018.
I'm going to watch this one with the original dub, since most of the puns and jokes get lost while translating or doesn't work so well in another language - at least that's what happened to the first Wreck-It Ralph movie.
Who else is excited? :)
