Hasbro Little Kingdom - Coronation Anna

"Dancing through life"

from the musical Wicked by Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman

Today we'll have a look at Coronation Anna from Hasbros Little Kingdom series. She's my very first Little Kingdom Princess. While they had lots of Elsas, this was the last coronation Anna so I grabbed her. They had quite a few bigger sets, which are in plastic cases with a handle or as the two Frozen ones, in bigger boxes (and not just a cardboard backside, like the smaller sets):
Rapunzels Wedding, Auroras Fairytale dreams, Elsas treat shop, a set with Jasmine and Abu, Elsa and her castle. I was surprised how expensive these sets are compared to their price in other lands. :(
I saw Snow White, Cinderella Belle and Merida sets, a few different snowqueen Elsas, Anna with different stuff and a few single ones, like the one I choose.
No Ariel, no Mulan, no Rapunzel. But there were quite a few of my favourites, Elsa, Anna and Belle and... but, as I said, she was the only coronation Anna. Nobody wanted her since her box was a bit crooked. She herself was fine so I took her. Now, let's free Anna. It's not very difficult but as it's my first doll from this line, I was afraid that I'll ruin her if I press it too much. At the bottom there was a big folded piece of paper, that shows all the Little Kingdom sets that are already out.
One side is for the Frozen friends and on the top, there is some really cute artwork of the characters.
In the middle is of course Elsa and her castle playset, the other , smaller sets nicely arranged around it.
On the other side there are the other princesses, arranged, just like the Frozen ones, around a bigger castle playset.
The artwork is very sweet
She has a very simple package that seems quite easy to open.
Warning!
On the back of the box, there is a small picture of Anna and three even smaller picrtures showing how the snap ins and the mix and match works. It is listed in several languages that all of them are sold separately and are subject to availability. There is also a huge 'Warning!' sign, that it is not for children under three years as it has small pieces. Well, it doesen't only has small pieces she is alltogether very small.
Almost free!
Anna has an adorable little face with blueish green eyes and some freckles.
Annas backside
Her hair is moulded to look like a bun with a few locks that didn't get caught while her updo was made. It is not a very accurate representation of  her movie hair but is very cute and fits very well this world of tiny happy princesses. She comes with a complete outfit, three snapins and a headpiece. A complete outfit is made up of a top, a short overskirt and a long underskirt. Two purple flowrs (They are likely to be crocuses, the same flower that Anna has on her pendant she wears with her coronation gownand is Arendelle's symbol) and a golden butterfly are her snap-ins and she has a crown or tiara as a headpiece. This outfit represents her coronation dress from the movie and is quite accurate for such a small dress. I put the two pieces thet came separately on her skirt so they won't get lost.
ballerina Anna
The short skirt can be worn without the long one. She balances quite well, both with and without skirt.
She can sit down  as well, althought her legs are quite stiff. But I don't consider this as a drawback.
She can move her arms and her head as well.
I think she is really lovely but isn't suitable for younger children. The outfits may not stand lots of playtime and those little snapins can get lost easily. So my little Anna, who will be called Dori to identify her in my Anna army, will stay in her dress and will have all pieces in her dress and on her head. She is standing now next to the Prince from the Beauty and the Beast mini doll set and hardly reaches his waist. She is quite small but lovely and will serve as my lucky charm as I'll start work next week. :)
I hope you enjoyed this little review, if you like these little ones here is another review of a bigger set called Friendship Collection Set by Beastsbelle.
I hope I can post something this week but most likely this will be the last post for a while.
Bye!

Beauty and the Beast - the musical

Note: I write the hungarian names as we write them here in hungary: surname first, then comes the given name

Disneys new, live action Beauty and the Beast movie premiered today in my country (and it is said that even Luke Evans, the actor who played Gaston, showed up) Here is a photo, linked from an online article about the movie :) I haven't seen the movie yet.

I thought this is a great opportunity to share something about the musical version and especially about the one I've seen, the hungerian version.
What I love about the musical are the added details and songs. As a child I always wondered, why did the enchantress curse the servants, they didn't chase her away. And in the musical there is an answer: they didn't do anything directly to get rid of the lady but as Lumiére says, they played a great part in the princes life and it was their fault that he became so spoilt and selfish.
I thought I could share some thoughts and photos about the hungarian musical version of Beauty and the Beast.
Since the 2005 premiere there were quite a few changes in the cast so I'll try and show as many of them as I can. The show is still running, though it is on a tour at the moment. It is a non-replica version so it doesn't look like the Broadway production and I figured this could be interesting for my readers. The costumes are different for example. Here is the youngest actress who plays Belle (Kisfaludy Zsófia)and got the role not so long ago, showing off the blue village outfit.

Quite different but I still like it. When she flees from the castle, a sleeve is accidentally torn off by the beast. And when the Beast saved her but collapses she uses a part of her petticoat to bandage his wound quickly, untill they get back to the castle.
Her pink dress is quite different from the animated version, too, but I couldn't find a decent picture. I apologize for the quality. It has a short sleeve made of a fragile, a bit lace-like fabric. The skirt has lots of little roses and other flowerlike patterns on it. She wears this for the library scene, there is no green dress in this version. The library itself is a huge swing.

And of course the golden-yellow ballgown:

The dress she wears at the end is a bit different but the costumes the different Belles have aren't always exact copies of each other, either.
Mrs Potts (Polyák Lilla) and Lumiére (Bálint Ádám ) giving the Beast advice. (I'm sorry, I can't identify the actor playing the Beast - there are backdraws with a mask like that) I really like these costumes:

Maurice and his invention, it reminds me a bit of a bicycle and it works similar but it is supposed to be more like a motorbike:
I had to replace the picture because the theatre renewed its homepage and removed the Beauty and the Beast gallery. The picture comes from a youtube video but I did not make it, I found it via Google.
Gaston and Lefou - had to replace this picture as well because the theatre renewed its homepage and removed the Beauty and the Beast gallery:

Be our Guest (Lumiére is Bereczky Zoltán):

Belle (Szinetár Dóra) meets the Wardrobe, aka Madame de le Grand Bouche (Siménfalvy Ágota):
Some other enchanted objects with Chip and Mrs. Potts (Polyák Lilla), singing Human again.:
And if you look closely you can spot Belle and Beast in the upper left corner. :)
Cogsworth (Földes Tamás), Beast (Homonnay Zsolt) and Lumiére (Bálint Ádám):

The End: Belle (Jenes Kitti) and the Prince (Homonnay Zsolt) celebrate their engagement, with Mrs Potts (Nádasi Veronika) sitting in the forground.

This is the other yellow gown, the bottom of the skirt and the shoulder part is a bit different, and the skirt is more folwing, not as stiff as the orther.
My favourite Belle (Vágó Bernadett) and Beast uhm I wanted to say Prince (Szabó P. Szilveszter) :)

I got out the booklet and the pamphlet I received when I watched the performance. The bigger one is from around the premiere the other one is only a few years old. Elisabeth Belle was curious to learn more about Belle.
There are lots of beautiful photos there!
Elisabeth posing with the booklet and the pamphlet
The booklet introduces the whole cast and creative team with photo and there are a few sentences about them. Photos and the first part of the text of the song Beauty and the Beast is also there. The pamphlet only had the names, a little about the performance and photos.
To round it all up, her is a short video made by the theatre:
The music is live from a performance I hope you enjoyed it.

Just sharing some flowers  and the girls are trying to decide which pansy has the most beautiful colorcombination.
Snowdrops from our garden
Tulips from last year
Cherry Blossoms from last year

Just look at this Pansy! Isn't it Beautiful? Arabella asked.
I like this blueish purple one more
This one looks good even with my red hair! Chris joked.
Annis liked another one best.
Well, there are other beautiful flowers too.

Camp Gowonagain 2015 - A story by Chris

"How far I'll go"

From Disney's Moana

This is a little tale from before the blog started but we thought we should share it.

Camp Gowonagain is an event for any doll can take part in and have fun, organized by MyLittleMegara every year. A link to the first camp (first day)
The Camp started on Monday, July 6, 2015 and ended on FridayJuly 10, 2015
So Meritre decided a while ago that this Camp Gowonagain would be fun and asked us if we wanted to take part. All four of us – Arie, Rosie, Annis and I – were overjoyed. A real adventure out in the world! We had to fill a form which was a lot of fun but the question about our age was tricky. How old are we actually?
’At least 15 months old’ thought Arabella. ’But I’m not sure how long we’ve been at the store.’
’15 months? But that’s still a baby and we are not babies!’ argued Rosie.
’How old are the characters we are made after?’ asked Annis.
’Ariel is 26, Jasmine is 23, Rapunzel is 5 and Merida is 3’
’No you are totally wrong, Ariel’s 16, she mentions it herself in the film!’
’Jasmine is said to be 15, almost 16 and Rapunzel is celebrating her eighteenth birthday. Oh and Merida is also in the 16 years old group.’
‘But Rapunzel was created 5 years ago so she is 5!’
They discussed it for a while and were as noisy as possible for even Meritre noticed it and asked what we were quarelling about. When we explained, she thought for a little while and said that we all should give 18 as our age.
’It’s not that important you know. You go to that camp to have fun.’
I guess she was right about that. We started to prepare. Annis got a new dress since Meritre thought she can’t go camping in that ballgown she came in. Everyone packed their stuff and precisely on the 6th July, we started. Meritre choose a nice, sunny spot for us. We let her decide where we shppuld camp since she knows the garden better than any of us.
Arabella of course had to complain.
‘Do I have to carry those bags? They are so heavy!’
‘This is it, we are there’ I said, not really paing attention to what she was saying.
Rosemary came a bit closer.

‘It looks fine. I like it’ she commented.
Then Annis arrived, too, carrying a huge black backpack.
‘So this is it. We are going to find lots of flowersbecause it is not at all windy and quite sunny. Perfect for camping.’

Arabella had already thrown herself on the ground and stretching out her limbs.
‘The sunshine is so pleasant.’
Of course, I thought, Jasmine comes from a warm country so no wonder Arabella likes the sun. In my opinion, it was quite hot. Tired from the journey we all fall asleep quickly.
The plan for the next day was to do some crafts, anything we liked.
Annis, practical as always, tried to make a little hut, where we would be protected from the sun. It kept falling apart so in the end we had no hideout. Arabella collected some flowers to make a flowercrown.
‘Arent they beautiful?’ she asked.
Rosemary found something else to protect her fom the sun.
‘Look, these flowers are like hats! I’ll get everybody one so they won’t get sunstruck!’ And with that, she was off to find more big, hatlike flowers. This seemed indeed a good idea if one planned to stay outside all day, like I did. I put on the flowerhat she gave me and started my adventures. Climbing trees, exploring the yard, watch the cats come and go, listen to the birds singing, it was quite an eventful day. I went back to the camp, expecting to find a nice dinner. But everybody was still busy with their own crafts, Rosemary dropped off to sleep with the hat on her face.
‘Looks like it’s my turn to craft something, preferably dinner. But I can only make an omlett.’
‘That’s fine with us. Let’s go find some eggs!’ Annis answered.
I was the lucky one to find some eggs first.
‘Now, we need a campfire.’
‘’Here is the wood I collected for the hut’ said Annis and broght all the wood she put aside. Then she went away to find more since she knew that inexperienced campers will need more firewood than necessary.
It wasn’t as easy as I had thought it would be but the four of us working together, we managed to cook a decent dinner.
‘Hmm, Chris you are a fine cook. You are hired for the whole week!’ said Rosie after we ate.
‘Fine, you’ll have omlett all week’ I gave back.
Nothing helps getting sleepy as a good meal and a cup of tee we prepared with a little help from Meritre. We all slept without stirring until next morning. Another fine day I thought and went off looking for adventures again. It was quite hot so I returned quite early. But what did I find! Everybody seemed to be sad and lonely.
Arabella found an arabian-looking pot and was staring at it.
‘What’s wrong, Arie?’
‘Huh? You are already back, Chris? It’s nothing just… I was thinking… you see, I found this vase today that reminded me of Agrabah from Aladdin. And I just thought that I’ll never, NEVER get to see it…’
That was indeed a sad thought.
‘Uhm… How about we bake some cookies?’
‘That’s very kind of you, but I would like to be alone just for a little longer.’
Well, I respected her wish and went off to find the others. Turned out they were kinda homesick too. Rosemary at least. Usually she is the one to make everybody smile but sometimes she remembers that friend of hers from the factory. She wanted to go back home and help Meritre look for that friend or at least write something down, she felt like she was going to burst if she can’t do something about it. Poor Rosie.
Annis was trying to comfort her and I left them, too. Annis was better at this then me. They’ll be all right. The best thing I could do to make all of us feel better is to bake some cupcakes or something similar.
And I was right, they all loved them!
‘What do you plan to do tomorrow?’ Arabella asked.
‘It’s likely it’ll be another hot day so… I’m not sure. I wish I could use the cool night hours.’
‘’That’s it!’ Annis squeaked ‘Let’s do that! How abut some star gazing tonight? Who’s coming?’
Everybody of course.
We spent a lovel night looking for shooting stars.
I spotted an especially bright star but that wasn’t actually a star but an aeroplane.
We had so much fun together exploring, talking things over and strengthening our friendship.
Then the last day came and we had to leave the camp. Arabella of course started again.
‘Do I have to carry thos heavy bags again?’she asked.
‘Mine is just as heavy as yours’ Annis said.
Rosemary didn’t say anything but she turned away rather quickly. But not quickly enough. I saw something shiny on her face. She was actually sad to go.
‘Don’t be sad, we’ll come again next year.’ She smiled.
‘And we will bring Pihilppa and Hazel, too?’
‘But of course!’
The four of us walked happily home.
I turned back before going and waved the place goodbye.
‘Goodbye, Camp Gowonagain! We’ll come back, I promise! And with new friends, too’

(Now I can add that we did keep our promise, we returned next year and brought along Phil and Hazel. But perhaps not like you imagined it. Look out for more of our camping adventures!)
